Drovorb for clarinet, horn, piano, violin, viola and cello (2013)
Duration: 7’45”
As one can think, the title of the work has no meaning, although the order of letters may refer to the main idea, which is broken symmetry. The phenomenon of broken symmetry is widely used in particle physics and it was the main inspiration for the composition. In this piece I also developed some of my previous ideas as: non-octave periodic pitch organization, complex periodicities in rhythm and textures or a specific way of transforming one musical material into another, emerging new musical structures and vanishing of old ones.
Commissioned by the Polish Institute in Madrid for Plural Ensemble.
