The title consists of two segments that represent the main concept of the composition. The Latin word susurrus may be translated as “whisper,” “noise,” “humming,” “rustle,” while the prefix ab– also from Latin – signifies movement, separating from something, absence or difference. The title as a whole attracts the listener’s attention to the interwoven sounds of low and high dynamics, and to the interpenetration of changeable colours and textures. The “departing from” that can be observed in this piece may also be understood more broadly as transitions between the planes of the soloist, the orchestra, and the electronic layer.
